Custom clothier J.Hilburn offers its style consultants a Style Kit iPad App featuring a “full catalog, individual client profiles, the ability to create style boards, and access to up-to-date stock information.” ViSalus enables iPhone, Android or Blackberry users to “promote the Body by Vi™ Challenge, access and manage your business on-the-go, shop, and enroll others” through its Vi-Net Mobile App. These are just a couple of many direct selling companies integrating mobile strategies.

The days of door-to-door selling on foot are long gone. Mobile technology has already enhanced distributors’ ability to connect to a larger audience more quickly. Smartphone applications have made credit card processing easier and simpler. And, the development of third-party application software is growing.

Credit processing and mobile transactions are continuing to make it easier for distributors to conduct business. It is only reasonable to expect that technology will continue to make connecting and selling easier for the direct seller.
